About uk_exile
Biography:
I'm not british. Its a username only! I'm a kiwi, born here, lived here 29yrs then due to work moved to UK late 1990s. Returned to NZ 2003. It was while working in UK that I chose my online username for all online stuff and have kept it ever since. It's not because of any connections or loyalty to UK. Have only been back once to UK since 2003 as part of an european holiday. Can't say I hated UK but certainly disliked the lack of freedom & was just there for work. It simply wasn't me or my happy place.
Location:
Havelock/Linkwater or Ashburton Lakes

As I’m sure eventually happens to all deer hunters, I have found myself in the position of trying to put a new hunter onto his first deer. Once the weather lined up with the weekend, it was off...

Any hunting brand kuiu/sitka pants and gear will be fine. Nothing especially bad here to rip gear. If you haven’t used crampons you can get yourself in a bit of trouble using them, eg can get up the...

TR usually filed with Maritime Radio. Specific format to follow as regards required info and you have to cancel it when you are back onshore too.

Trip report. Legal requirement in some parts now I believe. Idea is you let a base station know time out and number of persons, then let them know when you return.

Just in case the fixed one goes underwater with the boat it's fixed to, I'd get a handheld too. Perhaps keep it secured in a floating container with the EPIRB
