About uk_exile
Biography:
I'm not british. Its a username only! I'm a kiwi, born here, lived here 29yrs then due to work moved to UK late 1990s. Returned to NZ 2003. It was while working in UK that I chose my online username for all online stuff and have kept it ever since. It's not because of any connections or loyalty to UK. Have only been back once to UK since 2003 as part of an european holiday. Can't say I hated UK but certainly disliked the lack of freedom & was just there for work. It simply wasn't me or my happy place.
Location:
Havelock/Linkwater or Ashburton Lakes

I use a mozzy net. Poke a couple of small branches in to keep the net off the meat . that way flys can't lay their eggs on it. Works well.

I use the old Huntec deer bags, they work well by letting air flow but the flys can't blow through it. I carry a couple of pegs to secure the top from fly's getting in. Light weight and wash up easy...

I just get net curtain from spotlight and see it in a tube thread over whole deer or boned out and I tie it at the top and just use small sticks to hold it off the meat. Then tie it at the bottom...

Yes I got my mother in law to sew me one out of curtain netting. It’s about four metres long and about a metre in circumference. It has drawstrings at each end. It works mint. Hang the meat. Cover it...

In that regard, I got in a Longshuo "1200yd" version solely for use with my PCP on rabbits. Cost about $110 landed all up. Turns out it's amazing value for money. I took it out the other day on a...

I've got a slightly different way of looking at it. For me, deer don't tend to stand at convenient distances away, so range increments are arbitrary. I've set mine up per half MOA / 2 clicks, and...

Just gone away for Christmas so can’t show a photo of mine sorry but I custom produce my own in microsoft excel using a template I created. Title just covers what load/rifle it’s for so to not get...

uk_exile sorry my bad, I didn't make that very clear... my scope is a Weaver Super Slam in 1/4moa with pop up turrets which I rate very highly (particularly as I've been hunting with guys who were...

For someone relatively new to the whole hunting scene, this is what I have found works for me so far... 156653 Admittedly I have actually only had to dial up for 1 deer out of 6 shot so far this...

Run the calcs at 3000ft alt ... cos that's where I do most hunting & 1000ft either side seems to seem to make sfwa different to numbers. Most scopes are moa, 200 yd zero's so drop card has ranges in...

Rangefinders with adaptive ballistic functions (varies with conditions) have nearly negated drop charts (fixed data), but always good to have a backup. I write what load/ammo I have zeroed the...

I modify ballistics print-out and reduce size. Then I attach to rifle stock .156644 I use double sided rego labels and on top use cellophane sealed with wifeys fingernail polish.
