No issue with the bush hunter just isn’t a package (that I’ve seen) that delivers the bang for buck the HNF/Beretta 20” threaded carbine/Burris deal does. Easy to spend 2k and have everything turn...

I'm not keen on the packages either. As for the rifle, if you're going to cut the barrel down, you have to weigh up the cost of doing so and cost/hassle of shipping a rifle if you don't have a...

When I got into hunting I had a howa .243 and cut my teeth with it which was perfect. I then thought I knew better and got a 300win mag although shot a heap of animals with it I lost a heap more...

LarryB asked that we don't derail his thread. Start another thread and get in to it there. But I will say here that you are expressing the exact sentiments I described about kiwi attitude earlier....

Hi all. We are supportive of this initiative by the GAC to provide resources for new and learning hunters. Please leave this thread to discussion of the Better Hunting Platform; if you wish to...

Perhaps some hunters in NZ need to be slapped with some consequences for their actions. Kiwis seem to have a it's all about me attitude, and they don't give a rats arse about anything but...

It looks like a great initiative to me so far from what little time I have had to look through it. If having rangers stops the dicks who shoot up road signs in the back country or ripping off...

Well I feel a bit disappointed my post about sector-involved free hunter training I spent two years building to support NZ hunting has turned to re-legislating the GAC and calling me a prick. Here...

100% agree! that said, nothing wrong with an online course to at least get the theoretical aspects nailed. HUNTS courses sadly are limited with the number of applicants.

.223, .243, .308, .270, .7mm 08 are probably the 5 most common calibres in NZ. Add in 30.06 as well all have good amounts of factory ammo. The new calibres like PRC, creedmoor might be new and...
