Fair bit of hate towards Bush Buck but have a Ranger bush shirt and it does the job. If anything it’s too warm at times. Wear it with a thermal top and maybe a Warehouse Back Country top underneath...

As above. Either 3006 or 308, doesn’t make much difference. Plus 223, 22, shotty . Over the years have shot a representative animal of each game animal in NZ with 308 and nearly there with 223.

Agree, bullet placement is always most important. That being said, ammo such as 223 Norinco fmj especially in yellow packet was a very effective round on animals. Tumbled on impact as designed...

Haven’t been there myself but a few Marlborough Deerstalkers Members have been a couple of times and reckon it’s not a bad setup, with some challenging targets. Heard they’ve got accomodation on the...

Incursion coming from private on to doc or vice-versa it doesn’t matter but you gotta keep on to the buggers, be they goats pigs or deer. There’s farms around here that have shot 1300+ deer and the...

257weatherby liked post by woods223 On thread : Chassis for hunting, why are they not more common in nz?
Chassis’s generally heavier, too many bits that catch vegetation and pistol grips are impractical as fck for fast follow up shots with bolt action.
