    You can get the Thompson Compass with bolt action 5 shot mag. I tested one and accuracy was 1/2 moa out of the box; after I checked action screw torgues and bases etc. Here is a link....

    I surmise that the lenses in 30mm tubes have a more gradual spherical contour meaning less refraction / aberration and therefore reflectivity / light loss internally. (Just my thought)

    Eye relief is as good or better than most. Just dont try snap shots on full magnification and youll be fine.
