   Agree. I have a leupold @ 2.5 - 8 * 36 with b&c reticle on my 308. It has proven very satisfactory out to 600 yards and is ideal in the forest as well.

   Corrosion generally requires an oxidising agent. Cheesecloth strips impregnated with grease will seal well. For shorter term storage dry and apply a light coat of gun oil or vaseline.
