    Got double flouro light in ceiling, and an old standard halogen reading light over the scales and press. Never had an issue with electronic scales as far as I know - except for a worn out OEM...

    New scales, throwers etc have shields to protect from interference from lights, phones etc. The most important part of the question is to have plenty of light, and by plenty I mean heaps.........

    I got a LED unit with a long cord and a plug recently from Bunnings for about $80. Came with all the mounting hardware (easy as), and it's a nice bright diffuse white light, well worth the money ...
