A ..22 mag will do all that he needs to do , ie cows ,possums , rabbitsand hares . IMO a 222 or bigger is too much gun for what he wants it for , as a safety considaration with kids , workers walking...

.223 is to me, a whole new ball game because of the substantially increased range etc. Smaller ammo too for .22mag. You can carry a few rounds without getting too precious about them. .22mag...

22 mag with a can on it. Shoot the 30g vmax and everything dies quite explosively out to 100

i purchased a 20" stainless model in .308win. i have only shot factory 150gr. Hornady American Whitetail in mine with very good accuracy for a brush rifle (minus 1M.O.A. holes often touching). i...

Just by a Tikka Finnlight and job jobed. A nice carbon stock if you feel like it later on. Sure you could spend another $3k to loose another 200grams, but you would be better off making smart...

I remember when we were men, and it didn't occur to us to care what a rifle weighed, or what fraction of moa it shot, we zeroed at 200yds and killed everything we pointed it at out to 300yds without...

ZG47 liked post by rambo-6mmrem On thread : Rimfire scope on 30-30
air rifle scopes are tougher than centerfire scopes due to the spring powered air rifles being very tough on scopes a normal scope on a "spring" air rifle would be shaken to bits

ZG47 liked post by res On thread : Rimfire scope on 30-30
As Timmay says its probably more of a parallax setting issue than anything else-and rimfire parallax settings would seem better on a 3030 than most centerfire settings

ZG47 liked post by Feather or Shoot On thread : What scope are you running on your .22?
I'd probably agree with Bagheera more although I don't think I'll ever put a fixed power on my 22. For me it's striking a balance between field of view, and magnification. A 2-10 would be ideal for...
