just use the lee hand one its simple and no measuring required and cheap. Also if you trim you'll need a chamfer tool for deburring the neck after you've trimmed it also cheap. that's what i use

It doesn't hurt to clean up the necks. It improves accuracy and maybe only removes .001-2" off the fat side of the case. If you continue loading lopsided cases you introduce more and more runout. So...
