Can probably get non-genuine spare batteries cheap from aliexpress or something? Won't be as good as a genuine one, but usually ok.
Nikon D7000 for me, I have an assortment of lenses but the one that I usually take in the hills is an 18-105mm.
Depends on your priorities though - a dSLR like mine is a fairly chunky/heavy option...
