Whilst in the gun shop in motueka today, I grabbed a box of the Winchester 55gr ballistic tips to try out.
Didn't even sight in with them, but first shot was freehand at a ranged 175 yds Result...

If that is the case, it sounds way too much fun not to try it.

I was quietly hoping that there may be some dog tucker left when using the lighter pill.

Rather than spend up on a dedicated varmint rifle, I am considering using the 243 for longer range bunnys etc.
Only a cheapo marlin, but it shoots fine with 80 and 85 gr.
