Just wondered as some believe they need to do it for metalurgical reasons. I long stopped cooling mine down by dunking - just another step required in the process then - dry them off. Using Omegalaq...
Sorry, you have lost me - what is the purpose of dunking them in water?
muzr257 I use 650F for the necks to ender the shoulder and 350F for the body below the neck. You can use 400F instead of the 350F.

Spot on. Here is a photo of 308 ADI brass cooked to perfection. I changed my flame distance a tad so had to increase the time. They look like factory Lapua :thumbsup:

The low temp Omegalaq (tempilaq alterative) was applied 2/3 the way up from the base to the start of the shoulder, the high temp was applied up the rest. No laq...
Not a fan of the long socket method despite all the posts saying how well it works. It doesn’t give the consistency that I need. I have a Bench Source annealer with twin burners and a CAC 308 case...
