When I lived up north used to hunt the sth kaimanawas around kaimanawa rd and waipakahi rd worth a look not too much human traffic

Been up there a month or so ago the last section of the road is abit dodgy so beware,animals were a little scarce last time up,but I usually bump into the odd tahr or deer
