And for all you sick minded ones, ‘show me your pointies’ doesn’t mean what you think it does. Be assured I don’t want to see that [emoji23]
Finally got round to hanging up some of my edged things. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20231019/5c166bac3065ac75cb3646d0b5d8ac6b.jpg
Some of my favourite knives, all for different purposes. The...
My NZ Carbine, pretty stoked to pick this up recently. Quite an amazing bit of kiwi history in my safe.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230731/8fde854d7debdd7d35398113a92951b9.jpg...
Definitely would be cool!
I run a pouch on my belt for this purpose. I have been out and tested it by spending two nights from it. I have various stuff in there, probably more than most would, but other than the normal stuff I...
James and the team at R-R are great, I had them sight in and do chronographing on my rifle. Super good blokes and always looked after me, had them adjust the eye relief to my preference before they...
Great to have another form of emergency comms but I’ll still carry my plb. As others mentioned phones just don’t have the battery life to justify not taking something else, especially if to want to...
Welcome mate :)
Mate, I relate a lot to your story. Always been an outdoors person but nobody in my immediate family is a hunter. My first deer was also a Fallow spiker in Mackenzie. Thank you for sharing...
Can confirm there’s plenty of wasps around there still, been stung a few times there recently. Never seen so many. Worth carrying some antihistamines.
It can be tough hunting country up there but good to see you came away with a nice chamois. Gotta watch out for the NZ falcons around that area too, they like to sit in the tall dead trees on the...

I have some from Sako 150gn SP, but probably not useful sorry mate
A lot of them have door seals that only expand when exposed to heat so probably not water tight. That and the bolt holes in the floor.
Awesome vid mate, makes me want to get mine out [emoji1360]
Unless you’re a lucky bugger who owns land, you probably haven’t been able to scratch the hunting/shooting itch whilst locked inside. Let’s hear your post-lockdown plans!
I picked up a beaut No.4...
No clue how many were made but from what I have read it was faster and easier to produce and apparently had minimal effects on accuracy (they still had to pass the same tests). But it must have made...
Yeah all numbers matching. Paid 1200, probably around about right these days. It’s won a few of the Service Rifle shoots over the years apparently. I was going to take it to the range tomorrow but…. ...
1944 BSA No.4 Mk1, picked her up this arvo. Has mint rifling and is in great overall nick. All that’s left is to choose a name and take it to the range, any suggestions?...
22LONG RIFLE IS THE BEST CALIBER WHY PUT UP WITH RECOIL. IT HAS A WAY BETTER BALLISTIC COEFFICIENT THAN ANY 30 CAL
SENT FROM MY ARSE USING TAPATALK
Welcome, good to see another young member from north canterbury [emoji1360] I’m in the same boat as you, can be tricky without having another hunter in the family. Recommend joining the Handloaders...
This instantly made me think of James May’s ‘belt of many things’ https://youtu.be/7JYzk_p5zQU
Farmer down the road hangs magpies from the fences, he swears it keeps the other pesky buggers away. Might be an old wives tale but anything is worth trying I reckon.
