Thanks. I'm happy with the way it all turned out.
I've now had time to spend at the range shooting with the Microcell pad fitted.
Something I hadn't mentioned in my original post was the fact that the rear of my stock was formed at quite an angle...
The pad arrived over the weekend. I forgot how light and resilient they are. Something to note though is that although the pad is black, the 5mm of hard plate that mates with the stock is actually...
Still waiting for pad to arrive!!!!!
Maybe just a tad. I blame my parents. Thank goodness neither of them are on here! This place would go to pieces.
Thanks for the replies. I've ordered a Microcell pad as I've had good experience with them in the past. I'll fit it when it arrives and report back for anyone who may be interested.

Lmao. Stick to fishing mate. Hunting a whole other game lol.

Thanks for the info. It's good to hear real life experience.

LoL. Some funny buggers on here!
Appreciate the humour.....
Still need a recoil pad.
Makros, do you have a limbsaver on a rifle? If so do you notice a difference in muzzle jump? assuming that was a problem.
I think you're mixing up recoil pads for stalking boots
People keep talking about jandels, thats a bit like saying "use a recoil pad" which brand of jandel?
Thanks for that Maros. I don't think Ross has a bed, in fact I don't think he even sleeps. Do humour sucking vampires sleep???
LoL. Manners may be universal but your humor is all yours Mr Nolan.
Morning everyone. Many years ago when I bought my Sako 75 Finnlight, and after my first trip to the range with it, I quickly decided it needed a decent recoil pad. So on went an R3 which has done...
