The reason I suggested Wire-Hair pointer was that I hunted with a guy a few years ago that had one. Was 3 months old & its 1st trip on the deer in the Kaweka's.His mate had a 5yr old GSP on the trip...

Maybe so but even though I have a lab I would suggest perhaps a Wire hair would be a better choice for a deer dog.Have hunted with guys that had Wire hairs & GSP, but depends on how they're trained...
