Somewhere on that thread I had the picture of a blade I had forged sometime last year.
The progress has been slow but I have almost finished it.

Slow progress :
I have hardened the blade then heat treated at 200c for two hours twice. I presume my oven was not quite at 200c as the steel is still really hard on some parts of it and the file...

They are the best for cutting emery in tape :-)
I got this Ruike . Under 70$, really impressed by the quality. The blade is well centered and quite rigid once opened . The pivoting axis is on ceramic ball bearings .
I just need to take it hunting...
That folding knife above is called a dague A la d'estaing
Google the name and you will find many different models with the folding guard which is an original feature.
