Best to add a couple of extra bolts/ coach screws/ teks or what ever and over do it . More is better

The real reason for the 30-06 parent case was the lack of 7.92x57 brass in the US after WW11. Lengthening the chamber with an '06 reamer meant brass was easily available and war souvenier rifles...

Flood it with carb cleaner or Brake kleen? Shake , rattle and roll repeatedly , then flush with hot soapy water ?
Ultrasonic cleaner with heat should do the job.
