More than 50mm lift will require a cert at an awful lot of WOF places. If you think that's not correct, enjoy the debate, and the waste of time arguing it. Best of luck.
We use ARB Old Man Emu in...
This version, the U530, swaps from left to right in 30seconds!

I may well do that thanks, I love your knives, and have a few mates in the area, that area around Cromwell, Alex, Clyde is just about my favorite spot in NZ.
Well it's out of the shed!
Dropped the truck at the Sparky's workshop this morning, so he can put the cab & wiring back together, then fit the front winch & bar and then it's just a few little...
Yeah had a chat with them, it's too lightweight for what I'm after.
Yeah thinking ally was probably a lazy way of saving a bit of weight. With 900nm of torque the Mog doesn't notice a bit more trailer.
Maybe I'll suck it up, use chrome moly to make it a bit stronger...
Thanks XR, kind of what I was thinking, I'm taking a look at the Cruisemaster independent suspension next week, there's some here that my Camper builder has.

Anyone of you engineering/fabrication types had much to do with ally trailers? I've seen some big boats, around 7-8mtr on ally trailers, what's the thinking on how well they last? And it's life...
Yeah I'd like to stay single if I can. And the 2 tonne is not essential, but the Aussie's like Cruisemaster do them like that.
And you're right about the cost, but I'd rather spend up front & have...
Talked to these guys, excellent so far!
Anyone built a trailer with independent off-road suspension? Sort of thing you see under Aussie campers etc.

And does anyone in NZ build this sort...
Yeah a good mate of mine has one.
Arrived here ex UK, 10 years old, but 0 kms, plastic still on the seats.
Bigger than the Mog, on leaf springs, & probably not as good off road, but epic truck!...
Yeah was more thinking of the concept that that actual item. Pretty easy to get something more heavy duty made.
Re the class 2, when I started down this path I was going to build on an Iveco Daily...

Hey XR, how deep did you have to bury the spare to winch off?
I've done that with my GQ Patrol, but the Mog feels like a REALLY deep hole?
These things in the vid look good, still gotta...
Ha, that's not me, that's my awesome welder/fabricator. Check out the welds on the towbar/winch mount in one of those photos.
In fact, I'll chuck in on here

And there's the biggest difference, this thing is chocka with electrics. I had a good talk to the service guys at Truck City before I pushed the button on it, coz I was nervous about how precious it...
It's COF'd for 6 passengers, 3 in front, 3 in back, just 1 queen bed. Need seat belts for rear passengers also, which gets tricky for engineering.
Hey XR, yep they're cool. These ones are a bit different than the 1700's, air con, air seats, cruise control, and you can even listen to music or talk to the passenger! Very similar off-road...
Yeah the discussion of caravan vs camper is timeless. I went camper but it could have easily gone to "tow a toy hauler."
I've got a Jimny on an A frame coz I want to explore places the Mog won't...
Wife checking it for size.

Yeah factory wading depth 1.2mtrs.
Wanted a bigger fuel tank, ended up with about 450ltrs. But it's 50mm shallower than the original.
242525
OK, no sweat, just shorten the fuel sender right?
Oh f*#k, make this 50mm shorter, that's...
Bike lockers, 1 each side at the back.

Just 2 berth. If I had kids I probably couldn't afford the truck!
Drop down bed over the saloon.
