Thanks Tentman and thanks for all the other guys who have taken the time to reply. I too feel that the thread has jumped the tracks a bit here and has become a bit of a 'pick on me' session. The...
Ha, ha, yeah advice taken. I'll stay at home today and go out to the loading room and work on my ethics now with the creation of some more missiles... or should I say "hitiles"! Is that better?
Yeah, sorry mate um, we're using 7mm Remington Magnum 162 grain ELD-X (2,957 fps) and .300 Remington Ultra Magnum 225 grain ELD-M (2,930 fps)
I'm sorry bro, it has to be done!
I agree, 700 is a long way, and I've done exactly as you've said by completely missing deer, however, I'm not wanting to sound cold or anything like that, but, you've written "still leaves you...
Yeah, yeah, look, to be honest with you I 'can' answer mine own questions, and that is, we should be checking our POI at the ranges we intend shooting at 'FIRST', 'before' we shoot at the animals at...
I might have put you fella's slightly wrong. I have 'very successfully' shot deer out to 500m before, what I'm saying is, I'm not a bench rest shooter (don't shoot thousands of $$$ of ammo off at...
Yeah I got you, thanks.
Hmm, interesting. When I was looking for a 30 cal bullet to stop deer, when I was working up a load for my .300 Win Mag, a member on this forum (can't remember who it was) said Quote "try the .208...
Oh, ok thanks. So by that I'm assuming you're meaning just shoot at the animals, and don't worry about where your bullet's impacting, for the amount of target practice we're gonna get in is gonna be...
My brother and I have got two different takes on hunting, I thought I'd share with you guys. I know he will be reading this thread, so please feel free to offer up your advice.
We're both new to...
That's what I'm afraid of (exit wound being the size of a tennis ball). Did you waste much meat?
I've been known to sit, overlooking my favourite clearing all day, hugging hot water bottles from 8am to 5pm. Ten to five, four deer appear, take a shot and miss, go home with my front tail between...
No, display cartridge only. Just showing 57jl that there is a bigger 'non belted' cartridge than a 35 Whelen, besides, I'm not in the market for waiting two years of my life and paying upwards of...
35 Whelen (left) and .700 Nitro Express

Your thread seems to have gone a bit off the trac... tor! ;)
Thanks. ;)
Hey Gibbo. My wife cooked me a slab of venny for tea. After viewing your photo I took no chances when opening the foil (note the presence of the Beretta) just in case the thing was raw enough to make...
Well said, I fully agree
Cooked? The thing's still running!
What do you mean? I have a full blown conversation with myself, whilst alone in the bush... After all, I'm the only one I can find that's 'sane' enough to talk with :D
That's pretty much my take on it. The guy's a newbie, shooting deer when you first start out means everything, and shooting at longer ranges is probably an achievement too, well done 7mm rm!

What's 'sleeping' mean?
I can see I really needed to have put 'PGR' with that post you're referring to!
