Husband is getting over the cleanliness issue. Farming/hunter family. They don't *get* allowing dogs in the house. Scarlett (the pet) is the ONLY dog pet in the extended family.

Do your hunting dogs sleep inside?
So. We currently have a pet dog that is kept outside with free run of the property during the day and sleeps in the lounge at night. Husband wants a pig dog. He insists that pig dogs always sleep...
