As I said, a listof photos and serials kept safe, will help, however this should be kept "to yourself" and presented only when needed.

All new firearms have serials recorded, both into the country, and when sold from the retailer.
If the owner of stolen arm, jo blogs, directed ploice to that retailer, the numbers would be there....
