I've never fished a river mouth, always up river, have to work a lot harder to get one,more like hunting to me.

I've done 3 early mornings this week, haven't seen a fish yet, heard rumors of a couple caught last week.

We found a .22 leaning against a tree up the whakatane River a few yrs ago.It had been there for years.

I've considered it as offal, I used to boil up cleaned guts for the dogs, the cooking smell was awful.Couldnt stomach because of that.

I put one in freezer for 3 months unwrapped, I boiled the skull up to horns and then basically freeze dried the horns, worked well.

Will be very crowded, I know of 19 hunters in four groups going up there, some already in there.

Last time I was there, maybe 8 months ago, was fenced off, signs said no 4wd but nothing to say shooting is not allowed.

How on earth can taking a photo thru a scope portray hunters in a negative light.

Shilen barrel, 1 in 9 twist. Was doing half inch groups before chop. Used to shoot out to 800 m quite happily.
