There's a you tube video where they stuff the under cover with leaves for extra insulation........ can't see why that wouldn't work well stuffed with dry Ponga fronds.

I currently use this mat folded in half and it's been ok so far and does reflect your body heat.
It's a bit bulky as the foil is lined with 3mm foam so may...
