I have several of them, and one of them is also like this-but only on one of the guns it gets fitted to. From this I assume it's more to do with the threads on the barrel or maybe the over barrel...

where does that extra gas go though? I assume they just blead some off at the gas key? even if it directed out the ejection port and fixes over gassing it wouldn't help with noise levels I would have...
