    For 500 - 600 yrds and a rifle you are going to...

    For 500 - 600 yrds and a rifle you are going to carry a lot, up & down mountains - I'd being going for a light weight compact scope with good glass.
    A few that spring to mind VX6 2-12 x42, or Z3...
