Hey all, going down the 280ai road with a new 20" trueflite barrel, what powders do you recommend for good velocities with the 162's? Have plenty of 2225 but figure that might be too slow burning....
Just starting to reload for the mrs 243, what combos have you found that work well in the howa 243??
Definitely go with the 140gn BT in the Tikkas, powder supply may be problematic, I use a hot load of win760 for 2760FPS out of a 17" barrel
Give Win760 a go, can be a little temp sensitive but it works - I'm running 49gr in a 17" barrel, nosler 140BT @ 2760FPS. This is hot so work up to it.
Hmm now you’ve got me thinking, would save changing the bolt face. Is this something that Kiwi Greg does?
Has any one managed to ream a tikka 223 1:8 out to 22-250 / 22-250 AI or better yet as 300_BLK mentioned a 22-243?? Good idea bad idea??
I've been sussing out my Tikka 7RM too with the 162 ELDX, so far best results have been 73gr 2225 seated at standard length (3.29in) for an easy half inch group. seems fairly consistent with what...
Hi all, are there any guys around matamata area still riding their skis on the lakes for shits and giggles??? Keen to get mine back out for a blast.
I have a box of 82 7mm 150gr Long Range Accubonds, will swap for some 7mm 140gr accubonds / ballistic tips or a box of .22 69gr nosler custom competition projectiles.
Just got a new zeiss hd5 5-25x50 here for $1500 a good shop that deals with zeiss should be able to get it for that price. Better glass than the vortex target turrets etc. US dollar pretty crap at...
Try cut out the back of the mag (takes a bit of time to chip away at it) and put a piece about 10mm thick in there. Gives about an extra 1/8 inch in bullet length. Give win760 with mag primers a go...
Hey guys, does anyone know of or know someone who may have a range around matamata area out to about 600+ yds? Pretty keen to get into some longer range shooting
Win760 should work well
Easy as to make the tikka t3 mag longer 2.890" OAL in 7mm08 consistent half inch groups would post photos if i had another mag to modify
I also seat mine at 2.890" COAL but u will either have to cut about 1/8 of an inch out of the mag (which is quite easy to do) or get a long action mag
My tikka loves the 120gr noslers over 46gr 2208 easy half inch groups havnt run through chrony yet also loves the 139sst over 49gr win760 with magnum primer hot load but shoots well
