did anyone hear of the Stripey that was hooked and fought for 2.5hrs before snapping off in tasman bay?

Heres a bit of a video i put together, our first time chasing Bluefin tuna out the westcoast.
Was certainly a bit different than chasing snapper in Tasman bay!!

Yea I’d say so! There were a few of us out there!!

So this happened yesterday
First time chasing bluefin, we lost one (pulled hook) after 1.5 hrs fight.
Then managed to hook this one at 2:30pm, ended up fighting him for 5 hours into the night....

Managed to take a mental day off work with good weather and smashed a few snapper off durville and went wide in Tasman bay getting onto a heap of albacore tuna
A lot of fun had and a magic day on...

Went for a bit of a mission out west haven last weekend and and an amazing day!! Flat calm waters, caught snapper, king terikiki, Big blue cod, trevaly, Grouper, a random blue warahau, saw sharks...

another 2-3 weeks and the snaps should be in the bay :)

Managed to sneak out for a boat trip over new years, got our limit on blue cod easy as biggest being 54cm :)
went into the underworld and managed a personal best 10lb cray and tried for some...
