Very good point, I was very suprised when we got a bounce at 1800 m but it did take several attempts, there was no problem out to 1500 m though.

800s plenty for hunting with a 300 win mag dont want to have too much unnecessary walking, the illuminated post is pretty thick and obscures a lot of the target at that range even at max...
A friend bought one an 1800 bdx, along with the scope that it talks to the rangefinder gives readings to 1800 metres but the scope stops at 800.
