I have had all sorts of problems with Limbsavers. If any cleaning solvents get on them they will go all mushy and sticky. If you do fit a Limbsaver I suggest you store the rifle barrel down
I am in Napier and fit many recoil pads each year. I always use Pachmayr pads which I can supply. The small size almost fit perfectly and look really classy. PM me if interested and I can help you.
Buy some plasticene and plop it on top of the receiver where the rings will go with the scope on top and make sure the bolt does not touch the scope as you operate it. Measure the height and bingo

There are 3 sizes. Check their dimensions and then get the one that is closest to the butt size. The 752B is available in brown, red and black.
Have fitted many many recoil pads but will not fit Limbsaver anymore as they go all mushy and sticky after a while. I only fit Pachmayr Decelerator pads as they look much more classy and are easier...

Saw a Sako synthetic stock that had gone all sticky. The chap used hand sanitiser, which is mostly alcohol, and rubbed it all over and left it for an hour or two then rubbed it off with old cloths....
I use a 2 metre long 1 inch pipe to lie in the rings to line up while looking through the barrel. Works perfectly
