Guys, can I use kroil to lube my barrel for storage?
There are quite a few people saying on another forum that it contains ammonia and will damage barrels if you leave it too long.

No. just in the garage.
Just cleaned with copper solvent, no blue or green color was seen. Just a lot of black.
Can I use kroil solvent in the barrel to let the rifle sit in the cabinet?
Was really hoping to see some...
Will give the rifle a good clean tonight once the kids are in bed. Will let you guys know if any blue comes out in the patches.
Cheers for the help fellas.
Hi guys,
I have a Tikka T3 lite 223 rifle, and have had it now for about 18 months.
It is a stainless steel barrel.
Today I am going shooting so I was mopping out the oil from the barrel before I...
Cheers fellas, some good stuff to think about.
If I don't catch the bug, that's OK, I will have an accurate 308 rifle.
I have been thinking about taking up F class shooting in 308 caliber for a while now and have been thinking about which rifle to go for.
I was originally thinking a custom build, but I was looking...
Sorry for the typo on the AOL gauge ebf, I see you picked that up. Slightly anal, you knew what I meant.
I do everything you have suggested anyway. My question mainly was if the cases are all...
I am using a Hornady OAL gauge, with the 223 modified case, and the barrel that clips on to the calipers and measures the ogive for my seating depth.
My question is will it make any difference to...
Can you buy direct or have to go through a dealer?
Not having a go at Tikka in general, they are fantastic rifles for the price.
But the stock is garbage, too light and plastic for me.
The barrel and action I am very happy with. I am getting...
Where would you get one from?
Any idea on a price?
Spoke to deadeye dicks and they didn't have any that would suit.
What is more important as far as accuracy, the barrel, or the stock?
I would get a barrel first but I think the barrel is pretty good, Its the horrible cheap nasty stock that does my head in.
I...
Going to get a MDT chasis LSS, in dark earth.
I am thinking about upgrading my stock on my Tikka t3 lite 223 as the one it has is shit.
I was thinking about a Mcmillan, which is pricey but I keep hearing they are very good, and would love some...
That doesn't sound too flash. I hope he replaced your mates case.
Anyone got Scott Trails number?
Hi Guys can anyone recommend a good gunsmith in the Wellington area?
Want to get my rifle bedded and maybe change the stock.
Apologies if this is in the wrong section, wasn't sure where to ask....
Very generous, thank you very much.
Ended up taking it back and got a 223 Tikka T3 instead.
I think I will stick to target shooting up to maybe 500m instead of my initial thought of up to 1000m.
I...
Obviously I am not blaming the rifle for bruising my shoulder, that will be my technique. I'm sure most people who are not used to that caliber rifle were to sit there and fire 20 odd shots in 30...
Generally though, Tikkas are accurate rifles. I don't agree it's a gimmick, there must be some substance to the Tikka, and Sako, 3 and 5 shot Guarantee or people could return them for failing to live...
Even without breaking in the Tikka, it comes with a MOA guarantee anyway, so should fire right out of the box under MOA. And like I said before it is the recoil that pissed me off the most not the...
I just fired 28 shots through it. So it probably isn't anywhere near broken in yet.
I am more worried about the kick and people saying it isn't a very good target rifle.
I would imagine the groups...
You are 100% right Danny, I did rush into it it, was an impulse buy.
The crazy thing is I knew that most people said buy a 308, but I let the salesperson talk me into the 270.
I will see today if I...
