Ok final problem, a couple of the screws wont tighten, the woods stripped out,

what would be an acceptable way to repair this,
i'm thinking drill out the hole, and glue in a bit of dowel and...

well, i ended up just cleaning it with sugar soap, no sanding,

I just want it to be clean, i like the imperfections, its part of the history,
as for the value, not so important to me, its far...

rusty and dirty as, bit of pitting under the wood (didn't expect it to be mint for the money)
