Great lighter loads I saw the 30grm stuff on shelf in Ashburton this week, been looking for it every year first time I've seen it. I prefer a load of #3s but if on small pond the #4s would be ok too.
now THERE is a wet dream.......
If they can make that be endorsed they better look out as I will demand removal of every single gorse bush, ragwort Spanish heather, blackbird, etc etc etcand see if precident law applies,oh and people...
not a murmur was heard today close to here...
oh dont worry..twigs n twits want geese ducks salmon and trout gone too
blackbirds...yip they can have all of the bastard things, the sooner they get rid of them the better.
I will admit that the likes of barnes and heavier projectiles have upped the effectiveness of the 224s but will stick to the thought you still got to put that pill in with more precise placement...
there was a programme on it sometime back..hunting with Tui Im sure it was...guy shooting peacocks and selling the feathers all over the globe.
budget on AROUND $10 per kilo
weve had light rain on and off here most of the day....need a couple of weeks worth but will take any we can get.
stay safe out there folks I DO NOT want callout to recover anyone injured.
So..,steel cases, like what Barnaul etc use,how do they stack up as a single use item,as so far as handling excess pressure??
there is/was a new type of case being bandied around about a year ago..special forces round in 6.8mm ??? has steel head and brass body to withstand much higher pressure than normal. the technology...
they work ok as they are...will sharpen up very well if take the shoulder back..and if so inclined, the serated bit can be removed on grinder in seconds.... I have one with and one without LOL.
well seen as though I appear to use old and worthless methods I shall reply in kind...if your not hot rodding and trying to get silly speed by stoking up cartridges above what manuals say is ok...you...
nah..Paul is correct, watch it slow mo back n forward like the cricket umpires do and it hits right about where the bottom point of rear of his arrow is showing,at top of the grey line of rear of leg...
90% of ducks I shoot go 20 yards from impact and are dead on arrival...maybe Im a shit shot too??? look forward to hearing how Philipo manages to make them stop on the spot.:wtfsmilie:
20 or even 50...
I could be wrong but bloody sure they HAVE done a rusa episode...got to lookout point and sat and watched for 2 days type deal...real sit n snipe type set up.....awesome if thats your cuppa tea and...
Uncle and good mate had same happen and they both then emptied mags at it...7mm mag and 44 mag which kind of flips it on its head.
to each thier own.... we make our choices and live with...
Im opposite...love the waterfowling episodes.
great they can spread the interest around the shooting community AS A WHOLE.....
TRYING to get motivated enough to get rifle out of cabinet.....got next two days free and areas to hunt within two hours drive...but freezers are full enough abd I really dont like crowds. stay safe...
there are quite a number of .25 cal for sale on trademe at the moment...most vastely overpriced but they do still pop up.
when they get worn in the tread,I get out the angle grinder and put on cutting disc and add lots of grooves in the treads...keeps me from falling on my arse for a bit longer.
isnt it weird/sad that we the shooting community keep making same mistakes/relearn same lesson, year in ,year out..... if you look at critisism levels at the .224s as a whole, for use on deer.........
they are neither fish nor fowl.....grip is similar to old john bull commando boots and they are padded so the sheds water bit isnt there....
