that looks awesome...always been to scared to give it a go...put in plenty of store bought ones over the years.

as dos black beech ,maire and most hardwoods....bit of railway sleeper or power pole....both have been repurposed as fence posts too. should be good handle.

think Sarvo has it..black beech....it washes up around Timaru from time to time as does rata.... grain doesnt look dense enough for maire and it looks to have chipped too easy....depending on where...
