I see your point Fisherman...but for me as its ALWAYS going to be under 350.... yeah the options to do it ethically and cleanly are much easier.
or a suppressor..... the big plus to .308 is the ease of finding components and that wont change in a hurry.
the std .270w will gain that amount if you gave it another few inches of barrel too.....4-6" longer would make a hell of a lot of difference,oh so many have been knee capped with 21" from factory.
yes fireforming with hot charge is definately not in the manual..... small charge of fast powder n some cream of wheat sort of deal or a mild load with cheap projectiles(remember those?)
200fps...
Moa Hunter am at home with headcold so my patience isnt the best....that was painful to watch....from what I did manage to view..2-400fps better is ummm yeah sort of worth the effort if speed is...
so compare ballistics of both using ...lets say a 145grn factory round.....and whos laughing now????
yeah so close to each other its academic really...... the .270 is finally getting some decent...
piss off Noddykins...take a .270w projectile and your micrometer/fancypants measuring stick....and then tell me its not 7mm.... the projectiles fired from a .270 winchester are closer to 7mm than any...
mate......the size of the hole will be stuff all diferent...unless it pencils and even then it will still be the same... frangible is what it is,explody and fly apart... too long and both will tumble...
shit loads of difference....you can shoot animal with your 7mm projectiles but you cant buy any 6.5mm ones to use.
