I've stopped for breakfast on my way home and I'm not sure I'll ever get started again......
Also, a massive thank you to BRADS for sharing your beautiful part of the world with us.

Took my cannon out for some load development on Sunday. Got through 9 rounds before I decided the dead arm was going to start affecting my consistency. As of today (Friday) my shoulder has stopped...
And I don't like the way scout scopes make them look [emoji14]
Weird how these things work. I feel a scope looks great, but a red dot looks wrong.
The handguard is probably also on my list, though a fairly low priority. $400 is a lot of money for a bipod mount when I could just move my sling swivel stud back an inch or two. I think I also...
Not fired it yet. Will report when I get the chance. Planning to do my own cast lead subsonic thing as well.

Marlin 1895 Dark Series with a Bushnell Trophy XLT 3-9x40 and DPT mk2 suppressor. Additional Pachmayr Decelerator slip-on to increase length of pull, not just because I'm scared of it......
I can't find where I read it on their site, but I'm pretty sure it's only the MK 2s that identify themselves, after all, when they made the MK 1s, there was nothing to differentiate them from. Have...
I'll put my hand up for this, might as well justify buying a 'silly' calibre.
That's the thing, I could definitely hit the deer, I just don't trust my ability to hit a specific part of the deer enough to risk the animal's welfare. Deer aren't kind enough to wear little targets...
Now, this is the sort of excuse I need to mount an offset red dot and make my gun look completely try-hard...
I really like the ghost rings that came on my 45-70, but the possibility of encountering a deer that wants to stand more than 30m away from me means I'm fitting a scope. I'm confident I could hit it...
To be fair, he's checking them against each other, not actually loading up with Mk VII ammo to check if the sights do what they say they do.
By pure coincidence, this just came out:

Well, neither local gun shop had any 1" Medium rings with a picatinny base, so I've ordered the Leupold PRW2s from Gunworks.
Don't hold them on my accord, I've realised I probably need to confirm the height I want once I've got the suppressor to put in the way.
I think a few doors towards town, I just saw the original shop stripped out, and their hunter cutout sign in the window of another stripped shop down the road a bit. Will try to have a look today to...
That "clothing store" did a really good job of handling delivery of my rifle, while the gun/locksmith was shut to move premises, so I feel like they're my first choice for this purchase.

Looks like I just missed them. I think they're exactly what I'm after, though. Might see if the local shops have them new.

I've recently become a rifle owner again with the purchase of a sexy new .45-70 (Porn pics to come once everything is set up. I need some 1" medium height scope rings that fit a picatinny rail in...
I hit a pedestrian possum with both left tyres of my ambulance tonight. We did not attempt resuscitation.

Looks like it's time for me to start looking for a legal rifle or two to bring along, I don't trust my ability to throw the rounds downrange by hand.
