I was on a jap longliner off the west coast a while back. It was April/May and I recall catching Albacore then. Some bigs ones too. Definately worth a crack I'd say.

Depends what kind of Tuna. Yellowfin and skippies like it warm. Albacore less so and Bluefin can handle quite cold water.
