Keep at it. Next time go up The Te Tuhi track. You will save a few hours walk. Rather than stay in huts. Bush hunting is hard but persevere. Eventually you will have success.

Te Tuhi road end should be all good. Far less busy than Wairere falls and much closer to mangamuka hut
