That is a proper .22
There are a few in there that have a story or two to tell.
It had a burr on the cocking piece where it connects with the sear but is all good now.
Damn ya got me there, it's a shame when the projectile is worth more than the rifle. When that ammo was bought by my father it was probably 3 rounds for a set of Deer ears!
It is my goto for spotlighting, I pissed about and did some loading for it, that's a damn accurate rifle, really pleased with it though it did have a small problem in that it wouldn't cock when using...

The 03 shot more deer than any other calibre...no it didn't, maybe up until the choppers started and then the 308 took over and surpassed the 303 by a heap remembering the chopper boys were shooting...
Never angry happy, I just couldn't think of an answer so went with the old standby
