Great stuff mate - I'm sure you'll be hooked on them now!! Enjoyed the write up, cheers
Good work mate, sounds like a great trip. Congrats on your first deer
Cheers for the feedback guys - glad you enjoyed the video, sure was an enjoyable day... Even if it didn't look like it with all the whining about lack of fitness :D
Thanks mate, I'll look...
Thanks Mooseman! Yeah, there wouldn't be much of a memory or tale to tell if they were easy aye!
I've had one feed of steak off him and it was a bit chewy actually! Hoping the rest of it will be better though after a bit longer in the fridge and freezer.
Cheers for watching guys and cheers for the feedback - appreciated!
I don't do too much filming on hunts these days and don't really enjoy making the videos as much as I once did, I find my videos...
Just a follow up from my write up a couple weeks back on the Old Buck I was lucky enough to take on Public Land here in Taranaki
Link to video below of the hunt - Enjoy!!

Great work mate! Well deserved venison right there
Cheers guys! Definitely happy with him, head will look good on the wall and rug will look good on the floor... the fat steaks should be delicious too! 👍
Good stuff mate - great effort on the cornflakes!!
Finally got back out in the hills this week, mainly to put some k's in and start building some fitness for the roar, but hoping to also come across a mature Taranaki Public land buck!
I certainly...
She's all back together now - had a bit of a win, turns out they forgot to deregister it so I didn't have to go through the re-vin process
What are the issues you mention mate? The engine...
Yeah I've taken it for a few small rides now that it's almost fully back together and it goes well... Luckily I've been a bit nervous on it, unlike I used to be when I was younger and went everywhere...
Day 1 of lockdown purchased a Triumph Daytona 675. Crashed and deregistered but pretty minimal damage!
Has been about 10 years since I've had a road bike so really looking forward to getting back...
Thanks mate, was an awesome experience and a cool trip overall... Yeah we're big fans of eating well in the bush, probably get a bit carried away at times but it's all worth it.
Cheers for watching!
Awesome trip mate - bet Dad enjoyed that one!! Great write up, I'll have a watch of the videos. Cheers!
I don't mean to do a shameless plug of my video, but the below link has one of the coolest moments I've ever had hunting.
At around 19min 30sec I spent an hour with 3 sika squealing away at me. I...
As always.... Bloody good yarn and pics mate! Always enjoy them, cheers!! I might have to get back down there soon!
Yeah was a few weeks after the Honk's trip. Went back into the Ruahines after Honk's, then into Kaimanawas and got that small 6pt sika, then back in again and got the 8. The 8 was first week of May.
Agree with the guys on movement being key... I've never been into any camo, something about it just doesn't do it for me, but each to their own. 95% of my hunting is done in a pair of Swazi stubbies...
Cheers Rumpy, definitely pretty happy with him!
Good write up mate!
I'm a big fan of keeping it simple, but I'm almost always a bush stalker and simple is good!!
I've told myself this year I'm going to shoot more hinds and do my bit for...
Cheers Craig! Dropping in is all good, dragging your a*** back up out of there is the problem!
Thanks mate!
