Thanks. Very handy.
This morning I missed three rabbits in a row. Then discovered I was on the wrong reticle setting - wrong zero basically. No idea how that changed in the menu but best check it’s right before shooting...
One other thing I learned.. to calculate your shot using the ballistics software, you need to turn the rangefinder on, place the white box on the target, and press the menu button to lock the range....
I got the scope zeroed this morning. I used the tops off last night’s beer cans as targets, since they’re about the same as centre mass for rabbits. They worked fine. I used a can opener to cut them...
So the way to do this is take the shot and then without moving the rifle, grab the freeze frame?
Starting this thread now because I’m sure a lot of people will buy these, and the slim manual will leave people guessing I reckon.
I just took delivery of an AM-03LRF from Night Vision NZ. Great...
Hah. So bloody true.
Hi. This is The. Dumbest. Question. I’ve never bothered with rabbits before now. But I just bought a lifestyle block and I’ve got critters to reduce in numbers.
So… I’ve got the .22. And the...
Got no opinions, I like hammocks. But a hundred thumbs up for asking the question you did. Everything good must begin with a problem and user insight.
Good point on the recoil lug. I’ll be throwing this at a proper gunsmith.
I've got a Rem700 and want to put it in a better stock than the ADL Tactical stock it came in.
In 2 of the 4 stocks I've tried it in the action holes don't line up well enough to get the rear...
Thanks. It’s never had a rear bush and used to have about 2mm clearance around the barrel. There’s no significant back-blast. But yes DPT should be asked.
I had 19cm taken off the end of a heavy barrel Rem 700. Now I can’t get the suppressor on due to the wider cross section of the barrel. It’s a DPT suppressor with no rear bush. I think I need to turn...
I don’t see how a red-dot and CDS turrets end up being compared here. A red-dot is more like a scope with no CDS turrets no?
I’d love that but all they’ll do is put a price tag on the paperwork.
No problem at all! Happy to help.
They don't I guess, but just sitting around is good for nobody. I didn't think they'd be useful to anybody else.
Short action Steve 123
I've got a couple of those 'stock' stocks you get when you buy a rifle and then want to ditch ASAP. A Howa and a Remington, both bendy plastic things. Since I can't even give them away without...
Thanks, the heads are way too big. An engineer friend is going to lathe them to the correct size. I’ll see how they look after that.
Theirs are standard length. So not long enough.
I need longer action bolts for my Rem 700. THe ones i have are too short now. My new stock needs more screw length.
But I can't find proper action bolts anywhere in NZ. So I've got some of the...
I presume we wipe the WD-40 and residue off after we've sprayed it on? I do, but I'm conscious the instructions never mention that part.
I got the TA32-19 2.7x over Xmas and I’m undecided so far. I think wider might be better. But then the targets you are looking for are smaller I guess. But the thing certainly appears well made....
Run a tight brush down the barrel and see if it suddelenly slips forward at any point or resistance changes. That's how I've identified barrel bulge, which can cause the problem you describe.
