Yeah that's what I've done Mauser when I've dropped mine a few times. Usually found it's come very slightly unscrewed at 1 end or the other. With the slightly longer Panasonic protected batteries...

Yeah it may be in the tail cap. Try taking it off and making sure the spring is screwed all the way toward the back ( the switch end) of course it may have cracked a solder joint in the board.
