why is Waioeka closed?
Stags going this morning blowing it arse off and a real swirly wind made it impossible to hunt and hard to hear them roaring, got within 20m from one in the bush for the wind to swirl. Seen not a bad...
the southerly blast couple nights ago got a couple reds in to end, run out of light before getting to see the prize.
It was cold enough that i wish i had my gloves and a thermal:)

Finally got out tonight for a look, heard a couple stags just getting in to it. Got to dark. Have another look in the morning
Some here Tahr but finally found where some stags are living but yep hinds are in there family groups with the old spiker acting like any teen age boy
Hinds Wallow most of the year, like said above ticks,lice etc watching some the other day covered in mud head to toe. Lot of the yearlings/fawns love playing in the mud
No noise here as yet, hind wallows are in use and been getting used most of summer no real stag wallows been opened up yet.
And stags don't seem to be with hinds yet.
