I've reshaped a few stocks and created the palm swell by removing wood from the pistol grip. I'll try...

Oh and car bog is okay if just making a plug, or mock up stock...But it crumbles like old bread on rifles stocks. Stay away from it at all costs if possible.

I've brought a few trademe bargains...

How about cutting a flat surface on the grip, say 10mm in. Then epoxy glue a nice slab of similar looking timber on it well oversized. Then shape it to fit.
