Take that money and get better conventional optics. Don't go down the thermal path and let it take that bit of excitement of hunting away.

Yeah I have seen those, and got the e letter.
But doc doesn't keep any records of where waro has actually taken place.
I'm just opening a thread to see if anyone has seen any Waro activity...
Question for all, anyone seen any Waro activity down in the south island lately?
It always seems like the RHA has free care animals wondering the tops, but across the road, not in the RHA, animal...
I went a few years ago, part of a 21 day trip of hunting and diving (you can do that when you're a uni student).
We stayed at little Hellfire for ten days. Heaps of deer in the dunes. But...
It's a shame Chris can't fly anymore.
No judgement on anyone that flies with helisika, but think beyond today, and what access is going to be like.
People will soon have to fork out 2...
Been rocking the Past Outdoor UL6 tipee the last year or so.
It's just over 3kg with the ali pole. And another 2kg for the titanium wood stove, which is optional, but also not optional for those...
hebe, it's from past outdoors. They're Australian based and owned by a bloke who started the company after his army career.
Pretty top notch gear, the tent and stove was light enough for us to carry...
That's a great stag bro! Congrats
What's the usual procedure for lower jaw aging? Cutting into the molar and counting the rings?
We had no issues with water up there with the amount of snow though!!
The tipee saw us through comfortably!
Thanks for the reply. Noted! Will take a molar next time. Have only read a few things on aging stag on the hoof, and am a little under educated when it comes to the fine art of aging stags using...
Yeah definitely not north island. We fly down a few times a year to the main land.
Yeah, fit all five of us and the fire. Was a comfortable 25 degrees inside when it was cranking.
Gday
Five of us got out earlier this week and had a great time walking the hills. A bit chilly with a dash of snow on one of the nights, but the titanium stove and the past outdoor tipee kept us...
Just got out from Lewis last week.
Lots of stags around but just terrible antlers. 3 trips into the nina River now, nothing fantastic trophy wise. Lots of animals about though if you walk enough
Hey
Just up at Mapua for a holiday over the breaks. Got my rifle with me.
Haven't got heaps of time, just a day hunt. More of a tops hunter.
Can anyone point me in the general direction?

Just got a javelin bipod. I find the cant lever quite hard to use. You have to crank it tight for it to lock the bipod in position.
Anyone has this issue?
Just that the admin of the venison fb page is in touch with the GAC and FWF. They can't say anything more because of privacy etc etc.
Can someone post the whole story from both sides once it's resolved? Had a read on the venison hunters fb page and apparently this post is light in fact and truth??
I don't see why it would matter if he was being a dick on the phone or not. Its bad form to throw out an arbitrary 6 year ban based on his perception of how the phone call went. Sounds...
Its about 5 hours from the hut to the car and maybe 6 to 6 and half from the car to the hut (a few more uphills)
It's a cruisy walk along the tops apart from the hill at the two ends. Very hunt...
Haha yeah mate. The walk is half the fun anyways!
I never expected to have waipakihi hut to myself, hence why it was a stop over at the end of the trip, but hey, I see both sides of the coin. Just...
I was always under the impression that anywhere you fly, you'll be pretty certain the same heli operator isn't going to drop another party on top of you the day after, or vice versa, you dont fly in...
Just got home from a walk in trip the western side of the kaimanawas. As always during the roar, lots of hunters around. To my surprise and perhaps a bit naive on this, is the fact that heli sika...
Yeah well, there are cases where building companies have to repair or pay out their clients if you it was a build error to start with. But cool man, you say whatever to your clients, I'm sure your...
