    Interesting article here about carbon-fibre wrapped barrels and cooling. Carbon's Next Step Looks like you have to use the right sort of carbon fibre.

    Fluting will save hardly any weight. How much does a new fluted barrel cost? ie buy a new fluted barrel and sell your unfluted barrel. Might work out cheaper.
