Absolutely bolts open... no scope caps either.
And if you don't want to hold your rifle with arm extended for 60 seconds the alternative is 5 pull ups...
Shoot description is...
damn i forgot to add they had to hold their rifle with their arm extended :D
Competitor shall hold their unloaded rifle off the ground with the "non firing hand" (i.e. left hand if they shoot right handed) for a minimum of 60 seconds. Once directed by the range officier the...
Its a good set up for me. And just to clear things up i had a 14" square target set up right next to that 10" one. I took a few shots at that one before firing the group!
Its a Sako 85 varmint i had rebarrelled with a Krieger barrel in .260 Remington.
Scoped out some land today and caught up with the owner. We took the quad over some of the rest of the property and there is definitely scope for a full on field shoot with targets out to 700m or so....
Right i had better get some gear sorted i suppose. I am heading out to the location in the morning to start planning the shoot - target locations, shooting locations, parking, spectators and the...
Yep have had the 338 lapua scenars on my targets at less than 250m and although it swung the target right round the frame there was barely a pot mark on the target. Yours will be fine Nibblet.
Not so smart... firing bowling bals will get you kicked off the line. Targets aren't free and i use mine a fair amount at shoots. :)
Sweetas though, i will put together a shoot description and a...
But i don't have a .338 therefore we should ALL have to shoot projectiles with a BC less than mine.... :P
Sweetas if you want to range using your recticle but I suspect you may want to borrow a...
How about having say 15 numbered targets out in front, range officier will call a number and you have 3 minutes to find it, range it, and fire 3 shots at it from a standing start, carrying all your...
Muzzle breaks are fine - but i'll make you all shoot together... right next to each other :P
Seriously though muzzle breaks are fine. Targets might get out to 950\1000m but no further. Pretty hard...
Anyone want to propose some ideas for a short competition to kick the day off? We can have a social shooting session afterwards for people that just want to see how their rifles go and ring some...
Targets are all steel. I may get convinced to have a paper target at 100m for after the competition.
I ran a short range steel shoot out there today. The owner is happy with the date so that is...
Thats fine, who turns up will turn up on the day. Pretty much everyone will be welcome.
I'll put together a bit of a format and plan for the day in the next couple of weeks so everyone knows what...
Date fixed it is Saturday 16th of March
Depending on the magazine that is very likely.
Location looks awesome, room for ten or so shooters on the line at once and targets from 100m to 950m. Pencil in Saturday the 17th of March.
I suspect you will want a rifle to go along with that scope :ORLY:
Seriously a 3-9 scope will be fine however Rushy is right. You should really turn up with some idea of drop out to longer...
until confirmed otherwise just the Saturday
No problems Dougie, 2nd weekend in March is a long weekend for us but that doesn't make much difference to a farmer. I'll confirm dates after this weekend. Next time i'm in Rotorua I'll try and...
I'll be looking over the property and talking with the owner at the field shoot out that way on Saturday / Sunday. He is full time sorting hay at the moment.
I'll have a look at the property one evening next week after work. From there i'll confirm the date and then the shoot details.
Expect at this stage i'll run a 20 shot competition to start with...
Hmmm... suppose i could run it with a few gongs out just to have a go at in the morning then a few to score in the afternoon.
