also once the down gets wet and heavy if your washing cycle is rough it can damage the internal baffles that stop the down moving around in the bag.
Thats what happened to mine. Got very warm feet...

Second twin needle, Did a dam fine job of fixing my down bag last year, added an extra 200 gr down and repairs some baffles.
Washed, cleaned, and used water repellent on the down.
