Went for a walk on sunday, a bit wet and not many bunnies around. We saw a few, dispatched a few, but all were under 40m and damn the 17hmr really disassembled them.

Wellington region seems to favour hares far more than rabbits. So it's not unusual to see a lot of them around and a lot together. I think it may be predator related - hares are a bit big for stoats...

Oh absolutely, it's Rossi (aka CBC) with a Nikon 2-7x32 scope and a DPT can. He was pulling his shots a bit so I got him to focus on the squeeze and he came right.

I got bit by one of those f**kers once, triggered a bad asthma attack and put me in hospital. I have another friend who got bit in the thigh and had on going skin issues for years.

I'm a 17 convert, the worst thing about the 17hmr is knowing you won't be bringing out your 22s any more.

Blooded the 17hmr today, point and click 100m through the neck of Mr Bunny, when I pulled the skin off the top half (shoulders and above came away). Didn't see an exit wound but given the condition...
