I had one built and used Hornady Factory ammo initially while waiting for ADG Brass to turn up. The factory ammo was inconsistent rubbish.

Now it’s poking 180gr VLD’s out at 2950fps 24” barrel....

I’d certainly look at wheat…..

Yeah that’s what I reckon.
I’m leaning towards the 6.5 though to use the 140-150gr range of projectiles in a mild load. It’s a pretty light alpine rifle and as a 7mmWSM it jumps around a bit

It’s a proper SA and is BDL configuration.

It’s currently chambered as a 7mm WSM and has been good for the last 15 years but it’s time for a new barrel. It was always frustrating being so limited...

Anyone loading for the above? I’m looking at chambering a short action I have and keen to hear if anyone is shooting the SST or SS
